Dilemna needing Sarah help please
« on: Thursday 19 January 23 12:29 GMT (UK) »
I registered recently having discovered posts existed on here regarding my GGGrandfather (I had searched his name and area of residence on Google) I discovered the thread by Holly Willowes and interventions on it by sw1132 and am pretty confident both are also descendants of my GGGrandfather, so I have posted on the thread to try and make contact, despite their posts being 2014. I've since discovered Holly Willowes was last active in 2019 and sw1132 in 2021, so I'm assuming neither are going to see my post on the thread re Jacob Davies of Denbighsire.
Sarah it seems you can initiate EMails to the individuals concerned alerting them to the activity on the thread? I am unable to PM you as I have only made the one post in the few days since I registered (this is Post number 2!)

Any assistance would be appreciated

Hello,

I can see that you have already replied on the topic here

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=562440.msg7402203#msg7402203

hopefully the member should have been notified by email of your reply :) sometimes you do have to allow a few days for the member to reply we are all in different time zones and not everyone checks their email daily.

Regards

Sarah

Where's the dilemma?  I don't understand.
Bagwell of Kilmore & Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary;  Beatty from Enniskillen;  Brown from Preston, Lancs.;  Burke of Ballydugan, Co. Galway;  Casement in the IoM and Co. Antrim;  Davison of Knockboy, Broughshane;  Frobisher;  Guillemard;  Harrison in Co. Antrim and Dublin;  Jones around Burton Pedwardine, Lincs.;  Lindesay of Loughry;  Newcomen of Camlagh, Co. Roscommon;  Shield;  Watson from Kidderminster;  Wilkinson from Leeds

Being a "veteran" I suppose you would know how to contact two "user names" who have not posted on the site since 2021 and 2019?

I wasn't aware an E Mail to those posters would be automatically sent to them because of my posting. Now I know, to me what was a difficult problem is no longer a dilemma  :P

Welcome to Rootschat Newbie2023.

When you register on here you provide your email address.
Every time you post a query on here an email is sent to you if someone else has replied to your query.

Sometimes that may be years later like you after googling and finding info on Rootschat.

People change email addresses and sadly some pass away and  Rootschat is not notified so emails re replies get unanswered.

I hope that is not the case for you.

Trish :)

Hi Newbie2023,

Welcome to Rootschat!

Stick with us. This site will add so much to your family history research.

I just spent a weekend at first browsing the threads and absorbing how it all worked.

Then I plucked up courage to post a question. Something I had been chasing round for days was sorted in about 20 minutes!

Sometimes these days I can even chip in and help but usually I am not quick enough! Just seeing how the old hands tackle a conundrum will help your skills.

Best wishes, Tony.

Thanks antonymark for the encouragement because at the moment my head is spinning. I've been making brief visits to check on the reason I came on here but hopefully I'll stay around for a while longer once my brain takes it all in and keeps it in.....
