find someone on a convict hulk?

Hi all.

researching into a Joseph Caudwell who was transported to Australia in 1848 for Horse stealing. wonder if he served time aboard a convict hulk? if so, which one?

A search of the hulk registers doesn't include Joseph Caudwell
so looks unlikely.

I can't see an arrival for 1848, what was the name of his ship?

Joseph CAUDWELL was tried and transported to Tasmania in 1844, not 1848.  There was only two months between trial and transportation.  His record only has a gaol report, no hulk report.
