James, Mary and Jane Tippet - gone
« on: Friday 31 March 23 16:45 BST (UK) »
An interesting one, this.

Hi - I have John Teppet marrying Mary Rogers on 19 February 1803 in St Columb Major - should be Tippet.

There may be three baptisms for this couple in 1804, 1806 and 1809 but I am trying to find out what happened to JAMES.

He was baptised 14 January 1821 in Probus.

On 30 Nov 1844, he marries Mary Merrifield in Ladock.

In the 1841 census, he is with Zaccheus Miners and Elizabeth Miners (she is James's sister).

James and Mary have three children - Jane born in 1846, in Ladock and twins, Elizabeth and Charlotte in 1847 but both the latter die in infancy.

No sign of the three of them in 1851 - cannot find any deaths, remarriages or ventures abroad.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you

Phil

My apologies.

I don't. Apart from Mary and daughter, James's whereabouts are unknown. I can't see Mary or Jane in 1861.

Genius....that is really fantastic.....James has probably died but that's probably a certificate.

I never fail to get caught out by mistranscriptions.

Thank you for your efforts - thought this may have to be filed away!!
