If she was b after 1911 her mmn will be shown against her birth entry which will enable you to find her parents marriage

Was Steed her birth surname or married name?

www.freebmd.org.uk

Is she still alive?  RC does not allow details of living persons.  Where did you get her name & birthyear from?

There were 3 children born to her marriage between 1963 - 1979.  Are you in contact with them?

If you look up her “parents” on the 1939 register the entry does not support a child born 1939 so I would guess she was adopted.  The parents lost a child in 1938 - b 1938

Janice Diana Spear d age 67  Feb 2006 Cardiff RD
Birth Date: 12 Jan 1939

Unfortunately, I have searched the 1939 register and can find no child with that birth date that seems like a match.

If she was adopted, she would have been registered under a different surname and there were many Janice Ds registered in 1939 (assuming her first 2 names were the same).

Fidler - West Ilsley, Berkshire
Hamlin/Hamlyn - Long Sutton & Martock, Somerset
Head - Marlborough & Alton Priors, Wiltshire
Minson - Kingstone, Somerset/Symondsbury, Dorset
Owsley - Buckland St Mary, Somerset
Pyke - (West) Weeke/Wick, Pewsey, Wiltshire
Salisbury - Dowlish Wake/West Dowlish, Somerset

If she was adopted after the 1939 register was created then it is possible that her entry is still redacted  as FindMyPast would not be able to match it with a marriage / death entry and she would not yet be over 100 years old
