I'm really confused with Ernest Lucas
« on: Monday 17 April 23 15:42 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm really confused
I've been doing my husbands family tree for him. There's a confusing on something .
My husbands uncle is called Ernest Lucas. I think he was born November 1903. My hubby says he doesn't think his uncle Ernest Lucas passed away 1980s. He doesn't remember that.
As everyone knows that my hubby has a big family.
Recently I asked for a photo of the headstone of Ernest Lucas.
But the family on the stone my hubby doesn't recognise. Anyone.
It's possible that this Ernest Lucas isn't the correct one.

Please can anyone help me link up my hubbys family.
His father's name is Samuel Richard Lucas born 15th March 1915
He passed away 12th August 1999

Hopefully you might be able to see the headstone I've attached

Please can anyone help me.
I would appreciate any help possible.

Thank you so much for your time and help.
Kind regards
Dorothy

As the photograph has not attached, could you please just copy out the details on it here? (So that we can know the names your husband does not recognise)

The inscription on the headstone that is mentioned reads:

Merciful Jesus please receive
the souls of
Ernest Lucas
a dear husband and father
died Nov. 4th 1955

Also James E Hennessy
died Oct 3rd 1962
Also Elizabeth Hennessy
died Jan? 1973

I have told Dorothy that I don't think that this is the correct Ernest Lucas.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I agree BumbleB

This gentleman was RC.

There is no picture of Ernest Lucas grave on Find a Grave, there is a picture of his wife's inscription

BumbleB is correct, It is the wrong Ernest Lucas grave there is this marriage that connects the people, tree on Ancestry. Added James Edward  was born 1890

Marriages Jun 1928

Hennessy    Hannah    -Lucas    Manchester N.    8d   1247
Lucas    Ernest   - Hennessy    Manchester N.

Hannah was sister to James E and Elizabeth. So this Ernest is buried with his in laws. Both James and Elizabeth single in 1939 living same house.
