Formatting Icons - #

Above the area where you type in a new topic or a reply there is a fomatting button #. When you hover over it it says Insert Code. I can't see anything in FAQ or Help to explain what this is used for. It can't be coding as this could be dangerous. Is it simply coding for formatting purposes and, if so, how do you use this?  ???

I imagine that this simply formats the text as if it is code, monospaced font etc. Let’s try it.

Code: [Select]
This is not code

Thanks AlanBoyd, I see now! Duh! So it just makes it look like a line of code... I think I tried that a long time ago and had forgotten.
