I'm researching my mums paternal side of the family .
Emily Mary PEERS Nee Atkinson was my great grandmother .

I know that she had a child in Belfast with martin Beaumont and the family crossed the Irish sea
to Liverpool when they took the name peers .

They had two further children Henry David and Adolphus George .
I have tried to find a marriage for her to Martin Beaumont ,And her birth certificate.
We have always assumed that she came from Grimsby but it appears that she may have come from Ireland
Any information would be appreciated

Emily Atkinson's 1901 and 1911 census entries do show her birth place as Grimsby.

Possible birth entry: Emily Mary Atkinson
2nd Qrt 1870 - Caistor 7a/ 602
Mother's MN - Dawson

There is no husband showing as living with Emily and the children in 1901 and 1911 although she shows as married. Have you seen the birth certs for either of the boys to see what shows for father's name?

David Henry Peers gave his father's name as Leopold when he married in Grimsby in 1917:

David Henry Peers

Marriage 17 May 1917 Great Grimsby, Lincoln

PEERS. - On October 23, 1938, at Wolds View, Station-road New Waltham, Emily Mary Peers, aged 68 years.  Interment Waltham Cemetery, Tuesday 2.55 p.m., preceded by service in Waltham Church 2.30 p.m.
