This is James T. in 1923, going to Philadelphia. I am guessing that is where his son Alvin might have gone but can't read what it says to whom going, and it doesn't help with the family in 1881.

You’re welcome, but it was just luck. 

I am still looking for William and Mary in 1881. Can't be found so could be deceased but can't find any of their children other than married son John H. The other theories are that they slipped into the USA for a while or most likely, their last name is horribly misspelled or they missed the census (not likely).
…William A., born 1858 or 1860, didn't marry until 1883, not sure where but likely Toronto,
…Ruth A. aka Annie born Feb 28, 1862 who married 1883 in Peel,
…Elizabeth abt 1865 who didn't marry until after 1891,
…James Thompson Lennox, born Jan 5, 1867 in Madoc, Hastings Co.
The father William was a hotel keeper in 1871 in St. Lawrence Ward in Toronto East. Where could everyone be in 1881? I have looked for years to find the family. they just have to be in Toronto in my opinion. Thanks for any help. Peggy

I have a few minutes to spare, so I will have a quick look in 1881. If you’ve looked for years, chances are that I can’t find them but it’s worth a try.

I found a Fred C. Wilson at 5001 Willow Ave. in 1930. No idea if it’s the same person.

I haven’t found anything yet (no surprise) but I haven’t given up.  I will resume when time permits (a few days ago I started helping someone by pm).

Before I go, have you looked in 1881 for William’s 1871 census neighbours?  If they can be found, perhaps William might be near them?

Upon reviewing the 1891 census, married William A. Lennox has his siblings Margaret, Elizabeth, and James T. Living with him which makes me think the parents are deceased.
