FamilySearch books
« on: Thursday 11 May 23 13:36 BST (UK) »
Is anyone else have any problems with FamilySearch books?

For example if I click on any of the links on this web page

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/385535?availability=Family%20History%20Library

and then click on view inside (which would usually take me to images from the book)

I get taken to FamilySearch Digital Search page.  There is a message to say: The Book Site is experiencing slower than usual image loading. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Can anyone suggest a way round this?

Hi

I've just clicked on you link and then on  one of those on the resulting list and it seems to work. The cover page comes up and I can click though the pages.

I'm not sure why you are having problems. What browser are you using?

I see the warning when I go to the individual items, but I can still view the document. I don’t know if it is slower than usual, but it seems useable. I think the warning means that the problem is at their end.

I'm using Google chrome (everything was working OK a few weeks ago).

I've just tried with Safari and it's working fine.   ???

I've just tried it on Chrome and it works fine.  I was using Firefox in my earlier post.

Well, I am not having a problem with it, since I have never actually thought to look on Familysearch for online books, you learn something every day, thankyou  :).

There is an awful lot on FamilySearch if you know how to find it.

Parish Chest is another site I am having problems with.  The pages just won't load using Google Chrome.  Again it is fine using Safari.
