Hi,
I hope you dont mind me asking, but where are you able to view the naval records, from your previous message you mentioned that charles joseph stanley had been dismissed for striking an officer 1912,surely that would have given him a criminal record, to which my next problem is that in 1920 charles joseph stanleys occcupation was a police constable ,surely if he had a criminal record he couldnt be in the police force, :-\
Also i hope you dont mind me asking ,is there any way i can see any of his records of his time in the police force,

 regards
  jo

Do you have the address from 1920?
The 1921 census index shows Charles with Charles Robert and Alice Evelyn. Have you downloaded that census?

There are some criminal, records which seem to fit Charles Joseph which would then cast into doubt the Policeman occupation.

It seems to be correct. There are newspaper snippets - 1924 re ‘Ex Policeman sentenced..’

Hi
The only address i have for 1920 is from my grandads birth certificate , i think it says 19 kilburn priory, london N.W.6.
Yes i have downloaded the 1921 census
Im beginning to think that all the criminal convictions for charles joseph maybe true,i can vaguely remeber being told that my grandad wasnt brought up by his parents, and his grandparents in norfolk brought him up,
Thank you for your help
regard
jo
