I think you can ignore my last post. The GRO has Stanely mmn Pask being registered in Saint Pancras after 1841 with Philip being born Jan-Mar 1841 so unlikelyto be in Birmingham.

It's the wrong family
STANLEY, JOSEPH
Mother's Maiden Surname: PASK
GRO Reference: 1843  J Quarter in SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01  Page 276

On the census Joseph, living in Marylebone, says he was born in the City (of London)
1881 says born City Fleet Street.

When he married in 1864 in Westminster, Joseph said that his father was Joseph Stanley, Carpenter.

This fits better in 1841, except it's John Stanley, Carpenter, not Joseph.

Possible in 1841 - though hard to be sure if it is hin or not without any more info
HO107 677 3
Marylebone
John Stanley 35 carpenter
Sarah 35
Joseph 10
Ann 5

All not born county though (I guess they could mean that some of them were born City of London rather than Middlesex)

Joseph Stanley was a baker. St. Brides is good

This is the best I can come up with in 1851:
HO107 1514 352 16

Joseph Stanly 20 journeyman baker bn St Brides London

Living in h/h of a Joseph Pring, a Baker, at 25 Brook Street Holborn
