Finding Charlotte or Lottie Hunt/Fisher after 1891
« on: Sunday 21 May 23 18:11 BST (UK) »
I would love to be able to find Charlotte (known as Lottie) was Hunt, married Fisher on 1901 and 1911 census.  The excellent folks on this website helped me confirm her illegitimate son born 1899 (Francis Henry Baylis Fisher) and she had left her husband / family by 1901.  Haven't found her on either census.  I have a postcard from her in 1907 from Swansea, Wales where she might have been working as Housekeeper.  She lived with or married? an older man, so by say 1915 and he owned a fruit shop and they lived in Birchfield, Birmingham - according to my father anyway.   I have discovered so much about her son FHBF,  since the help from this website, being in touch with his descendants and even discovering his father and his descendants.  But where was Lottie ?

When & where was she born & when did she marry "Fisher".

Son was registered as Fisher mmn Hunt so did they marry after his birth?  Where was son in 1901/1911

Who did she marry the second time - when & where?

There is an 1888 marriage Charlotte Hunt & possibly  James Arthur Fisher - is this their marriage?

johnhood   -   That Charlotte Fisher on 1911 census is sister of James Arthur Fisher, husband of Charlotte nee Hunt.  The James Arthur Fisher living with her aged 20 is the son of Charlotte and James Arthur Fisher, older half-brother to Francis Henry Baylis Fisher.    The family dispersed on 1901 census after Charlotte left.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to order the marriage certificate for a Charlotte Fisher marrying John A. Place in 1912 in West Bromwich.  If James Arthur Fisher, Charlotte's husband, had died in 1911 the timing sounds right and West Bromwich is on the same side of Birmingham as Birchfield.

Just following on from your post,if this is your Charlotte she appears in 1921 census born 1872 with John Albert Place. He dies aged 55 in 1927 West Bromwich. He also leaves a probate record mentioning Charlotte Place. Charlotte possibly dies aged 65 in 1938 Birmingham. This Charlotte too left a probate record.
