Obits, Benjamin Carman and Ferguson Carman

Looks like he came to the US and then Canada around 1885 with an F. Carman but no wife.

That's great information on Ferguson's obit, thanks again! 
I had found Benjamin's death record on Anc*.  Rather odd his circumstances, as he had substantial family back in England.  His wife outlived him.

Eileen:  He's noted as a widower on the death record. He's also not living with his wife in the 1901 or 1911 census.

Did some more digging around, and found Anne Elizabeth (Nightingale) Carman on the 1921 census with their daughter Ethel in Tunbridge Wells.  Guess someone assumed, or he told a lie, that he was widowed.  Anne died 10 Mar 1923, according to the probate index on Anc.
