Following is the link to a story about the late John Patrick O'Brien who died in NZ in March 2023

https://www.cambridgenews.nz/2023/05/loners-last-post/?fbclid=IwAR1tExAg6GdeoQye08JQ9c2eKkdmoSxIy9HnAvRKRErTuM_NmKhZc6f7AXY&mibextid=Zxz2cZ

John was not born in Australia as mentioned in the article.  He was born on 14 March 1943, Paddington, England.
John's father was Patrick Gerald O'Brien b 1902 Monaghan, Ireland.  He married in 1935 in Fulham, London, England to Rose Elizabeth Cochrane.  Patrick died in 1973 in Queensland, Australia.  Rose died in November 2008 and is interrred in the Albany Creek Memorial Park cemetery and crematorium in Queensland, Australia.

He had a sister Margaret Rose O'Brien b 1942 Dublin, Ireland and who died in December 1984 in Queensland, Australia under the name Carruthers.

Patrick, wife Rose and children Margaret and John departed London on the ship "Strathnaver" and arrived in Freemantle in July 1957.  His occ was Bldg Contractor.  Their address was 37 Mozart Street, W10, London.

Research by a distant family member of John's Mother has indicated that John had two older siblings, a sister [Miss O'Brien] b 1936 Fulham, England and a brother [Mr O'Brien] b 1938 Westminster, England.

Miss O'Brien left London on 23 May 1955, arriving Freemantle on 18 April 1955, Trainee Nurse, on the ship "Otranto"?. Address in London 27 Mozard (sic) St, no street by this name probably Mozart St. C/- Dept of Immigration, Brisbane.

Mr O'Brien left London on 31 May 1954 arriving Freemantle 25 June 1954 on the ship "Himalaya", disembarking Sydney to address 33 Macquarrie Place, Sydney.  His London address was 37 Mozart Street.

I have been unable to find anything further on either Miss or Mr O'Brien (names not stated as they could still be living).

I have identified and been in contact with a dau of Margaret, however after initial contact I have heard nothing further.  I have no pursued this further and left it to her to reach out if she wishes.  There may be family estrangement?

I am seeking to find John's other siblings if possible and would welcome any information or further avenues [free] for research and/or advice as the names are making researching "hard going".  A PM can be sent to me for their names.

Ancestry, including Family Trees have been looked at.  Messages sent to account holders only one person responded who is a very distant Cochrane relative and not able to provide any further info; Electoral rolls online;  NSW BDM indexes searched.  Also checked Familysearch.  There are a number of other people with the same names in the records so is making the search harder.

Any assistance appreciated.

A possibilty is the Ryerson Index https://www.ryersonindex.org/ which is a free online index to death notices in the major newspapers. You MIGHT find a clue here as you know the first names of the ? deceased. Miss O'Brien could have married?
Trove.nla.gov.au is also a free online newspaper search..they may have been mentioned in Family notices or a news item

Many thanks Shume for your posting.
I will check out the index as you suggest.
I find Trove not very user friendly but will try.
Thanks again

The Ryerson Index and the Australian cemetery indexes are a great source of information.
I however did not find Miss O'Brien or Mr O'Brien.
I did however find John's Mother, Rose Elizabeth O'Brien died 18 November 2008 age 96 years, late of Lawnton, formerly of Petrie.
Death Notice appeared in the Courier Mail (Brisbane) 21 November 2008.
I have checked on Trove however this newspaper only goes  up to 1959.
Will try and find this death notice.

Thank you shume for your posting and to those who have read my posting.
I have made some good progress from searches on the indexes you mention, Ancestry family trees  and FB so will now close my posting request.
