Thanks for the reply :) Yes, I thought that and once I had seen that I couldn't unsee it! But I do wonder if the first three letters are Pre.... but I can't think what word that could be.

It looks like Insanity to me too. Does the document have any other examples of 'I' (upper case i), or 'P'/'p' that you can compare it with?
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Not everyone thinks of it, so I thought I'd mention it.

As for the writing, a trick I once heard of, and used here, is to start at the end and work backwards. This fairly clearly gives -sanity, and there's not a lot that could go before that. Given the style of writing, and allowing for an unusual 'I' (upper case 'i'), Insanity is then certainly possible.

Thanks, I think it must be insanity. I just wanted to be certain of that before I pass it on to other family members!
