George William Ramsbottom
« on: Sunday 25 June 23 15:48 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find more information on George William Ramsbottom born about 1878, Bury, Lancashire.
He married Alice Martha Jane Wood ( 1867-1939) on the 26th April 1900 at St Roberts church, Pannal, North Yorkshire
I have George William aged 13 in the 1891 census living with his family in Pannal
His wife and daughter in the 1901 census living at Hornbeam Park, Pannal ( his wife however is stated as unmarried?)
George William Ramsbottom died 2nd Dec 1916 and buried at St Roberts, Pannal, North Yorkshire
Where is George William Ramsbottom in the 1901 and 1911 census??
Many thanks

Have you seen the article in the Leeds Mercury, 5 Dec 1916, about the " extraordinary circumstances" of his death?

Morning Hanes teulu
I haven’t seen the article, I am only a member of Ancestry and don’t think I have access. I am now very intrigued!

The newspaper is available at FindMyPast and British Newspaper Archive (BNA). FindMyPast is available at libraries (depending on your locale) but access might depend on which edition they have - not sure if the Library Edition covers newspapers?
BNA is a subscription site.

Thanks Hanes teulu, I have taken out a month’s subscription to BNA, fascinating article indeed!

Amondg think you have the wrong George William, but thank you for your contribution
