Grant and McLeod Family - Kilmuir Easter
« on: Wednesday 05 July 23 02:37 BST (UK) »
I have a death certificate for Ann Grant (nee McLeod) (1759-1857 Kilmuir-Easter ROC), who may have been married to John Grant.  Her parents Hugh McLeod and Sophia Ross.  The 1841 census for Tain has an 80 year-old Ann Grant with a 35 year-old daughter Betty who may have been born in Golspie, Sutherland.

I am hoping someone can shed some light on where Ann McLeod may have been born and her parents.

I would like to know if John Grant is her husband and if he is the same John Grant as https://www.spanglefish.com/slavesandhighlanders/index.asp?pageid=226652.

Ann Grant's son John was a writer in 1841 but the mother would have given birth at 60 which is a little old, I think.

On Scotlands People there is this record which you would need to see to find if it is related to the above John Grant in Demarera, and if it is the same Grant family as above.

There is this additional information about the Grant family in Demerara. Reading here about the family, I'm not sure it is the family in Kilmuir Easter or Anne McLeod.
