re inquest in perth west australia 1931
« on: Friday 09 September 05 01:54 BST (UK) »
My grandmother Edith Annie nutley died 18/2/1931 at the public hospital Perth west Australia she died from a overdose of spirit of salts(self administered),we don't really understand why but maybe if someone could find out a address of where inquest records are held I could obtain the inquest papers and find some answers to all the questions we have all wondered about, on the death cert it says acting coroner j.j. Lyodd j.p. and the following date 31/3/1931(is this the inquest date?).As I live in rochdale lancs england this is the only way I can try to get the address I need, thank you for any help I receive really most gratefull to the people of Australia.regards Jeanie

Hi Jackie,

Sadly all the inquest papers have been destroyed.  I think our Governament needs a lesson in retaining records for family history.

Hi Jackie

The following website is for the State Records Office of Western Australia.

They do say some inquest records have survived, maybe an email to them may give you a definite answer.
