Ancestry Subscription Renewal, a warning.

Two weeks ago I cancelled our Ancestry Renewal.

Checked on Sunday and it had re-instated itself, so I Cancelled it again.

Checked today and the blighters have charged £179 to renew.

Guess a telephone call to their Help Centre tomorrow is going to happen.

This is not the first time that a Cancelled membership has been re-instated.

After a lot of ear bending I got a full refund.

Like so many websites its not just a simple click, there is a pop up then another webpage where you have to scroll down, select the reason then click on cancel

You then get a another window confirming.

All this is what I did but Ancestry then reinstated it, I then cancelled it again on Sunday only to find that they charged me.

I have had this issue before with other websites where my credit card is registered and their system would not let me delete the card details.  What I then had to do was request a new credit card from my provider, its a pain but it was the only way to stop them charging me again

I had an issue awhile ago so I just rang them.
Sydney has an Ancestry Office.

Make sure you delete your card number.
Even if you get another card, the last four numbers change, they can still take a payment.
This was happening to my friend with a company. I sat with her as though she was going to make an order when it came to payment all her cards we listed, all now delete and never say "Save may Card"

We are now waiting for the refund then we will use the discount link in another thread.

I tried the link yesterday and it did not show the half price.

I just tried it again today after deleting Browser Cookies and it gave Worldwide for £89.99.

If I cancel now will it continue working until the end of my subscription which is at the end of the month. 

I’ve seen so many issues about cancellation that I want to sure I’ve time to get it done, hopefully with an email confirmation.

I cancelled my subscription about six weeks before its end. It ran until the renewal date. I did get a confirmation email though so I had some comeback if something went wrong.
