Hello everyone!

A few months on and i found James details, looks like a typo with the address! Waterworks Cottage, Lambhill, Glasgow. Our family home and the same one on his birth record on the previous page.

Can anyone give me any details on what info is being given?

I am assuming he survived, and that he served with the Highland Light Infantry?

Is there any meaning in the multiple service numbers or reference numbers?

What details are in the red box?

He appears on another card with a different number, which then refers the reader to 2584.

Can we find out who were the people who received the pension? As far as i know he, like his brother William were some what elusive.

We don't know where James died or what happened to him after WW1.

Grateful for anyone thoughts, i see i can join Fold3 but i was not sure if some other info is more easily accessible.

Hi Rosie

Thanks for the reply, he is not at Waterworks Cottage on the census day/time.

There are quite a few James Mooneys i dont know which other one would be him! A couple of his sisters and brothers had already left the country.

I could not find a death record, at least one that matched for him either so i thought maybe he had left the country. It was suggested by another relative he might have gone to Aus to work on a golf course, but that has not lead to me anything helpful.

Thanks
Hugh

Oh wow! Thank you, that is worthy of some further investigation! 2 other James Mooneys who were in WW1 Died so its likely this could be him.

I looked NSW records website before but i will take another look. The ship is a good hint too, thanks.

On the same page is also a Brida Mooney co/F C Spratt Beach Road Hawera Taranaki (spinster )
After that nothing

There are a few records on Paperspast New Zealand for Ira George Smith husband of Catherine Mooney you might want to check

Yes I think its worth checking James Mooney went out first in 1920 then his sister in 1921 maybe that's who she went out to .Cant seem to find Catherine on the Electoral Roll Records before her marriage or William

I found the document on Ancestry, final destination is in fact New Zealand. His sister Mary and Catherine were already there and their descendants i know very well.

Brida went and did not like it and came back, she also tried Canada.

I had seen those "C/O" records before but was never sure how to put them together.

William was in San Francisco in the 1950s. I have a photo of him there but could never find anything else.

Thanks for your help!
