I started a search last night and I can't find any other Matthew Bellamys (or derivatives of) that were born in Saltsfleetby in that year. This morning I'm going to do a general search for Matthews born in Lincolnshire in 1871 and slowly rule them out. If none of these prove fruitful then I guess the servant in Boston is my great x3 uncle.

Matthew ‘Bellmew’ 17 yrs is a servant in the Evett household, Boston

This I dont think is him, as the birth place is wrong. He was born in Coningbsy.

Perhaps to consider:
His birthplace is dittoed under the previous person.
I can’t see another Matthew Bell* born that time anywhere.

Snap with Rosie   :)

I did similar searches to that which you intend to do with no sightings. :-\

Thank you, so it looks like his birthplace could be an error and this is possibly my Matthew? His sister is in service in Boston at the same time and he was a witness at her wedding so there are definitely links there.

Finished my search and I can't find any other Matthew Bellamys born at that time in Lincolnshire. There are a few dotted about the country but they pan out through the Census returns as remaining in those areas.

So I think that we can assume that the Matthew with Frederick Evertt, innkeeper in Skirbeck is probably my Matthew and the enumerator hasn't put his place of birth down. Could be that Matthew wasn't around when they called and the person giving the details wasn't aware of where he was born I suppose.

Thank you once again for all the help in helping me sort this out. I never would have considered that entry if you hadn't have found it and suggested I dig further.

Thats now 4 of Sarah Bellamy's 5 children all accounted for through the Census Returns and from birth, through marriage and onto their deaths.

There is only Ann Rebecca Holmes Bellamy that is still proving tricky. I have her birth in 1858 in Sutton St James, then Census Returns of 1861 (in Coningsby) and in 1871 (in Wigtoft) both times with family members.

I've yet to find anything after 1871. I've looked for further Census entries, marriages and deaths but have yet to find anything.

Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
