PENDER of Towlerton
« on: Sunday 27 August 23 11:13 BST (UK) »
Hi all. I am looking for some information on the Pender family of Towlerton, in Killabban parish. I can see Michael and Daniel there in the Griffiths valuation.
I am after church records, grave records, or any mention of a Patrick Pender. Looking at the period particularly between 1800-1850 at the moment.
Also what would be the closest workhouse - Abbeyleix or Mountmellick? Does Mountmellick have available inmate records?
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks, Katharine.

There was a Patrick Pender, died 1866, age 68, Carlow, not far from Towlerton

I am looking for a Patrick Pender and wife Mary who died before 1849 possibly during the famine.

pretty sure the poor law union and Workhouse for Towlerton townland would have been Carlow , the one in the town.

Agree!

Using OpenStreetMap it's only about 8-9km away.
