John Fenwick of Winlaton
« on: Monday 11 September 23 23:47 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the parents of John Fenwick born around 1720, died Winlaton in 1800. His death record on Bishops Transcripts implies he was born around 1720. I have found possible birth in Whalton 1720, father Tristram Fenwick but no connection of a Tristram Fenwick to Whalton? I have found his will etc and able to work upwards but not downwards. Any help or ideas would be gratefully received thanks

There is a baptism of a John FENWICK at Gateshead on 25 Jan 1719, father - John. Another possibility, Gateshead being some 7 miles from Winlaton. (Whalton is about 23 miles from Winlaton.)

Thank you both. I have looked at the record on geneanet but this just names Tristram Fenwick as father of John Fenwick born 1720. I will have a look at the other possibility in Gateshead and see if I can link anything to Winlaton John. I think he married Jane Green in Stamfordham 1755, his wife Jane is recorded as dying in Feb 1800 on Bishops Transcripts.
