St Johns Ambulance WORKSOP/MANSFIELD

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My father said his grandmother was a part of St Johns Ambulance either during WW1 or WW2. There was photograph of her in uniform that was sadly lost and I don't have a copy of it.
 
Is there anywhere that would list her? or give me any information?

Her name was Emily Leeson (nee Coleman) and she either lived in the mining village of Langold near Worksop or Mansfield at the time.

She was b 1893 & married 1914 so could have been involved in both wars.  Have you contacted the St John's Ambulance Headquarters to check if any records exist for that period?

Is she on the 1939 Register - the last column may have her down as a first aider (ARP etc) or St Johns Ambulance.

Yes I have all birth details and census records for her.
1911 she was living in Mansfield unmarried and working as a mill hand. She married in early 1914 and 1921 census they are still in Mansfield and again she's listed as a housewife. Same as on the 1939 register, unpaid domestic duties living in Langold.

I haven't contacted the Head Quarters as yet as I just didn't know where to start.

My son-in-law used to be a Regional Officer for St John.
He would get upset when people called it St Johns Ambulance Brigade

It is St John Ambulance Brigade!

My gt grandfather, Fred Holling of Tibshelf, was a stretcher bearer for St John Ambulance in the Boer War.  I wrote to SJA in 1984 and they were able to provide brief service records for Fred.  The modern equivalent seems to be https://museumstjohn.org.uk/research/st-john-archive/  so I would try them.  There may also be newspaper reports - when I searched for Emily Coleman her marriage in April 1914 came up if you don't already have that.  If you are on facebook there is a Langold group where someone might be able to help.  Tibshelf facebook group are running a 'Miners to Medics' project.
