« on: Saturday 23 September 23 10:20 BST (UK) »
Hi All, This is a company not a person. Union Shop Properties of Lower Manhattan NY founded around 1940 by Edward Lotery. The firm i have found out was at 80 Maiden Lane NY 10038, (from shipping list info) no joy on internet. Any help would be great.

I can't see any references to the company itself, however there a number of newspaper articles mentioning the address - around the 1940s seems to be insurance companies eg "Moffat and Atwood" (1949), "Maryland Insurance Co of Delaware" (1944), "Protective Indemnity company" (1944), "Niagra Fire Insurance Co" (1942), "Fidelity Phoenix Fire Insurance Co" (1936), "Alfred A Peck Insurance Co" (1935). Many more.

This may be the same Edward Lotery who developed Shopping Parades in the UK and transferred to the USA in the 1930s:

There are a few mentions of Edward LOTERY in newspapers, but nothing about the company that I can see eg sold a house at 20 Paxford Lane in 1945 (Scarsdale Inquirer 25 May 1945). Wife receiving a certificate of service to the local hospital (Scarsdale Inquirer 1 February 1946). Entertaining at the Wechester Country Club (Scarsdale Inquirer 13 August 1948).
Quite a few mentions of their children, Michael (d 2009), Rex (d 2007) and Diana in newspapers - sporting, school etc. (Diana married actor Richard BASEHART.)

In the 1950 census Edward is described as a real estate broker.

The only mention I can see is in the New York Times, May 11, 1939

"A vacant plot 240 by 215 feet, on the northwest corner of Wood Avenue and Blanche Street, opposite City Hall, in Linden, N.J., has been sold by the Louis Friedman Realty Company, Inc., to the New Jersey Shop Properties, Inc., through Albert B. Ashforth, Inc., broker. ..."
