He states in his Military records that he was born in Omagh, County Tyrone Ireland in 1875, I don't think the census record will give me any further information, I suspect it will just state he was born in Ireland

You won't know unless you look at the original census record. The 1911 census is the one most apt to list a more exact place of birth than 'Ireland.'
If he was Catholic then there's a chance, if attestation details were correct, that there might be a baptism if not for him then at least sibling or siblings. That's also worth a try-
