Brick wall help please
« on: Wednesday 25 October 23 09:20 BST (UK) »
I am having trouble tracing my nans paternal side . The surname is Reade/ Reed/ Read.
I had interesting dna match recently which seems to connect to the Reade line however I need to trace much further back

I have  George Read born around 1820 ish and assuming kensington Brompton area . He marrys Jane Mary Ann Chipp in 1841 with dad William on the marriage certificate ( He is Thomas George on certificate ) he died in 1842 as George Read in Kensington leaving behind one son and his wife. His wife remarries and one of her children  is a certified DNa common ancestor …

I would love to identity any sibings and his parents. George does appear on the 1841 census    If anyone can help me break this wall down, i  really would appricate the help

Thank you so much
Edit I am looking for his dad William and George baptism

You write:
“His wife remarries and one of her children  is a certified DNa common ancestor …”

Please can you clarify this - is your ancestor Mary Ann Chipp’s child from her marriage to George or from her second marriage?
Are you just trying to trace George’s ancestry for your records?

He marrys Jane Mary Ann Chipp in 1841 with dad William on the marriage certificate ( He is Thomas George on certificate )

I am not sure why you have added the extra names Thomas and Jane.

George READE, full age, bachelor, gardener, residence Hammersmith, father William READE, gardener
Mary Ann CHIPP, full age, spinster, residence Hammersmith, father Richard CHIPP, gardener

Both signed

Because that is three names on the other documents I have found during my research … I am hoping to locate his dad William . Sadly the Greens are not related

There is an entry at 1841 690 /50/32 transcribed as ‘Reede’ on one site but the ‘R) is not a clear ‘R’.
The page could be Reade or Heade  ???
