Land transfer
« on: Monday 30 October 23 03:57 GMT (UK) »
I have a William Lomas Caunt death certificate (vol 08a Page 192 ), He lived at Cruglas farm, Synod Inn
I am wondering if the farm was a soldiers settlement from WW1 and when it either sold to his wife or son Hubert and then who to once his wife died.
Any help as usual much appreciated as its difficult to get that sort of information from here in Australia
My wife was born in Cardigan in 1943 and as the family were in Mansfield Nottingham shire up till her birth i assume they moved to Cruglas for the birth while her father was overseas in the war
this would mean William Caunt would have had Cruglas prior to 1943

There seem to have been quite a few farms named Cruglas Farm.

The one at Synod Inn was occupied by a Thomas family in the 1939 register

The Welsh Gazette of 30 November 1939 reports that David Tom Thomas of Cruglas Farm, Synod Inn, was summoned for riding a bicycle without lights.

That's the Cruglas farm at Llandeilo. The one at Synod Inn was occupied by Evan Thomas & family.

I can see from the  1939 register William Lomas Caunt was still in Mansfield and as My wife was born in Cardigan in 1943 I assume the purchase or lease was put into place within that time frame
Not sure where to look for information regarding land transfers in Wales

Is anyone able to see William Lomas Caunt and his will and probate from his death in 1954
This may show if he actually owned the land

I have tracked the title register but it shows current owners and no history of the 1943 date I am after
