Children
Eliza 4.8.1796
William 1801
Elizabeth 19.4.1804
Benjamin James 5.11.1806 Non Conf
Anne 13.1/28.1 1810 same after Mother

Thomas 22.3./23.3.1817 NC after Dad
Thomas 3.1./31.1. 1819 NC
So with 2 Rowlands a very unusual name I think you are right and they are William's parents.
Thomas's previous job as excise officer may help find some more records on him.The Tills don't seem to be from BE.

I noticed the Rowland naming too, though it would probably be a good idea to eliminate other siblings of Thomas TILL as possible father of William. Would seem to definitely be a connection.
Thank you both, as you've both identified, Thomas and William both had son's called Thomas and Rowland. William's daughter Elizabeth and son Thomas also both had children called Rowland and Thomas.
I can't really find any other TILL family in the BE area at that time, so I guess this lends credence to the theory. Not sure if records on Officer's of Excise are available from that time - or how to find them (I actually had to look up the meaning!)
Anyway, I've found a lot people with the surname TILL in Staffordshire in the 1750s. However, in the 1841 census his birthplace is listed as Warwickshire, though I'm not sure how reliable this would be (just looks like they were all ticked regardless at that time lol)
Thanks for looking anyway both - Rowland is also in my name, so holds some significance to me.
