George Sampson

Can anyone help point me in the right direction please?
I'm trying to trace the life path of George Sampson Born circa 1847, Baptised Wiggenhall, Magdalen, Norfolk.
He's living with family in 1851 and 1861 census,  then any firm record of him ends.

I suspect he may possibly have joined the Grenadier guards, 1871 census has a record of a George Sampson at a Barracks at Little Warley, born at Tilney fen end ( which is close to Wiggenhall)

Then there's an 1881 census that records a George Sampson as a nurse soldier in the grenadier guards at Rochester row London, born Lynn Norfolk ( again not a million miles from Wiggenhall)

Any advise on how I could get more info on him and try clarify if this is the George I'm looking for?

The George in the Grenadier Guards is in the 2nd Egyptian campaign in 1882 as a private - reg no 4015

The 1881 entry you refer to shows his birthyear as 1852 - not 1847

Presume the 1861 is the one b 1847 Magdalen -  parents Samuel & Susan as there is another George Sampson b Wiggenhall St Mary  1844 working as a servant

1871 - Grenadier guardsman was b 1849

No birth reg under Sampson but there are 2 births as Samson in the Downham RD

1844 not found on GRO online to check mothers maiden name
1847  mothers maiden name Pilgrim

Samuel Sampson married Susannah Pilgrim 1841
