What letter
« on: Tuesday 05 December 23 13:53 GMT (UK) »
Hello, Trying to understand the following taken from a service card if a Navy Reserve. I have the following:
28.8.41 From Regr M'chester w??? ?te letter? from "B" for the re-instatement in R.N.R
3.9.41 To Reg M'chester wi?? ?te letter? stating no entry or re-entry into R.N.R during present hostilities. I'm struggling to read/understand the bold sections and would be very grateful for any help.

No experience with the jargon but is it "with" and Pte - don't know if that could be for private?

Actually no it doesn't look like Pte now, maybe a number or symbol instead of a P.
Hopefully someone with better knowledge will know.

I read it as :

28 8 41 From Regr M'Chester with pte (private?) letter from "B" for reinstatement in RNR.
3.9.41 to Reg M'Chester with pte (private?) letter, stating no entry or re-entry into RNR during present hostilities.

I assume M'Chester means Manchester and Regr is Registrar.
