Death of Thomas Johnston, Dec 28, 1901,Danforth, Iroquois, Illinois

Apparently, there is no death certificate for Thomas J. Johnston in 1901 as per Illinois death records. Today, I ordered his marriage record and if one is found, I hope it has his parents' names on it - not too likely! Maybe it will give his exact place of birth.

There was no marriage certificate found for Thomas J. Johnston who married abt 1858 to Isabella Rachel Arter in Plainfield, Will Co., Illinois. There was no death certificate in 1901.
However, he had a son James born Mar 6, 1878 in Douglas Township, Iroquois Co., Illinois who died May 17, 1949 in Guymon Township, Texas. On the 1900 census, James is single and living with his mother Isabelle, in 1910 he is divorced, and in 1920 he is widowed.
Wondering if James had any children. Can anyone find a wife for James.

Sorry, James was living in Texas Co., Oklahoma not the state of Texas. In 1918, when he signed for the draft, he gave his sister Mary Ruyle as next of kin so was not with a wife at that time.

Thank you very much, shellyesq,  for the follow up articles regarding James Johnston. I thought someone in this family had died as a result of a tornado and now we know who. Seems there were no children.

I found James & Willie Dee's divorce records.  They start here - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C33C-MQBR-R?i=379&cat=1059078  and go through image #407.  Apparently, they were married on 12 Nov. 1905 in Nashville, Tennessee and she abandoned him about 29 Nov. 1905, so that marriage didn't last too long.
