« on: Wednesday 03 January 24 02:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I'm hoping to get some help finding who Lass/Lars Hansen's parents were.

This is the information I have on him
- Abt. 1762-1764 born in Mjels (according to the Østervej 17 property history)
- 15 Oct 1791 married Anna Kirstine Hansdatter (born abt 1767 in Mjels) in Oksbøl Church (marriage record)
- 25 Jan 1794 purchased Østervej 17, Mjels (his son Las later took over the property)
- 1803 census living here with his wife and four of his children
- Had five children Anna Cathrina (bapt 14 Feb 1792), Catharina Maria (bapt 11 Feb 1794), Hans (bapt 9 Jun 1791), Peter (bapt 31 Mar 1800), Las (17 Jun 1804)
- 14 Jun 1826 died in Oksbøl (death record)
- 17 Jun 1826 buried in Oksbøl (death record)

I think I found his baptism in 1764. (left side, fourth entry)
https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/sogn1673/churchbook/source138953/opslag15218132

Transcription & translation

20 Junii blev Hans Hendricksens
son i Mels døbt og kaldet Lass.

On the 20th of Juni was baptized in Mjels the son of Hans Hendricksens and was named Lass.

About his parents.

At that time the patronymic system was used in Denmark to name children.
https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Denmark_Naming_Customs

This means that your Lass was the son of Hans (Danish: Hansen).
His father was called Hans, son of Hendrick (Danish: Hendricksens).

Unfortunately his mother is not mentioned.

I had seen this entry, but it is only a guess without any other records. I am thinking the best thing to do it to dig through the census records.

I'm familiar with the naming conventions (but thanks for explaining for those who aren't).
