William Watkins 1859-1917, Cardwell, Queensland

I'm researching William Watkins, 1859-1917, of Cardwell, Queensland, who in 1888 married Annie Wilson (née Wiggins). William died in Cardwell, 28 Dec 1917, age 57.

I've seen a lot of family trees suggesting who William's parents were, where he was born, etc. but without any supporting evidence.

I found a couple of newspaper obits for him, but it doesn't mention his origins. There's a findagrave entry too, listing his date of death and age. Otherwise, I'm drawing a blank.

What I really need is evidence, not just the speculations I've already found in family trees.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Lorentz Nelsen Wildsoet married Annie Wiggins in 1880 (QLD BDM Rec C838). Lorentz was later naturalized under the name Lorentz Neilsen Wildson. His will is under the same name. Their son Lorentz Johannes Neilsen Wildsoet took the name Lawrence Wilson and his marriage and all his children are under Wilson.
