GEORGE HAMBROOK DEAN DOUBLEDAY. Distinguished Service Cross.

Son of the Rev. John and Jessie Vincent Doubleday, of "Ingleside," Tunstall, Sittingbourne, Kent.

Remembered at  PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL 30. United Kingdom.
Also at  St John the Baptist Church ,Tunstall.

The Cullist was a "Q" ship also known as the Westphalia. Sunk in action against  U boat U-93, 43 of 70 crew died

The book Q-ships and their story (1922) by E. Keble Chatterton includes a detailed account of HMS Cullist's career from the spring of 1917 when she was requisitioned at Calais up to when she was sunk in February 1918.
