I’m very happy to say I’ve had a breakthrough
. In Morpeth I noted there were two other Keoughs, Anthony b. 1792 (hawker) and James b. 1832 (drainer) all born in Ireland. However could never find a definite connection between them.

Groom Parents: Anth & Bridget Keogh
Bride Parents: Matt & Mary Meer
James & Mary have two children; Bridget (1857) and James (born 1860, dies Jan 1860). Mary dies Feb 1860.
In 1861 James & Bridget are resided with his in-laws, Cormack & Sibby Maughan (Meyer) at Chatto’s Yard.
Anthony Keogh resides at Longhorsley as a boarder. Then he dies 31 May 1862 at Nicholson’s Entry, Newgate Street, Morpeth. Informant is Ellen Keough (dau in law), of Nicholsons’s Entry. He is buried 2 Jun 1862.
Luke Keough (son of Luke & Ellen) is born 19 Oct 1863 at Stoker’s Yard. Informant is Ellen who puts her residence as Chatto’s Yard.
By 1871 Bridget (James’ daughter) is living her uncle John Myers, now in Yorkshire. Cormick & Sibby also seem to move to Yorkshire mid 1860s.
James has done a much bigger move—all the way to Rhode Island. He marries Sarah Padion on 10 Sep 1866 (with his parents mentioned as Anthony & Bridget) and they have Luke Thomas, Mary, Catherine, Anne and James Anthony. He dies on 2 Jul 1916.
Still no clue of what happened to Luke though. If James was able to up and leave his daughter behind then my guess would be that Luke also left his family and moved abroad.
