I am planning a trip to Ireland and will be spending a couple of days in Tralee hoping to find some interesting family history and hopefully even some distant relatives. I will give you the gist of what I know and if anyone can tell me how to best use my time in Tralee, that would be wonderful.
My great grandparents were:
James Coffey 1873-1922
Ellen Clifford 1876-1943
Their Children were:
Julia Coffey 1900-1933
Jack Coffey 1901
James Coffey 1902
Michael J Coffey 1904
Hannah M Coffey 1905-1971
Ellen Coffey 1906
Patrick Coffey 1906-1916
Elizabeth Coffey 1907-1909
Daniel J Coffey 1909-1969 married to Margaret Mahoney 1904-1959
Daniel and Margaret were my grandparents
Daniel came to the US and lived and worked in New York as a window designer for a large department store. He went back to Ireland to visit in 1969 and died there. He is buried in a local cemetery.
I know that my grandfather used to live on Pembroke St in Tralee but don't know the house number. Is there any way to find this out?
I would like to see the old house where my grandfather's family lived and explore the neighborhood and its history. I would also like to visit Clogherbrien cemetery, where my grandfather is buried. Other suggestions for my visit next year? (June 2025)
More than anything, I would really like to find any extended relatives that are still living.
Thank you so..... much!
Sharon
