trying to find parents for Anne Ferguson she was born c 1700 and in 1724 she married John Skirvine in Athelstaneford I have found 3 children to this couple Adam Janet and John.I would love to find any info on Anne Thanks Kate

Possible birth records for John on SP

JOHN SKIRVIN baptised 8/12/1700 WHITTINGEHAME
ADAM SKIRVIN/JANET BARNFATHER

I do not see a record in the County for Anne, plenty elsewhere, have you seen the original marriage record on SP, if so does it give any other detail?

I have just found this note, unusually on freereg, it relates to the marriage.

Bride forename   Ann
Bride surname   FFERGUSON
Bride parish   Aberlady (at the time of marriage)
Notes   Caurs John Howdan for the man and John Ffergusson for the woman we rec her testificat Married at Aberlady 10th of June

Given that last bit from ColC could her father be John Fergusson

Anna Fergusson  born 21 March 1688 bat 25th at Haddington
parents John Fergusson and Agnes Montgomery

She'd be 44 when she had her last child.

Sister Jannet 17 April 1685 bapt 19th
Their parents married at Haddington 19 June 1684.

Haddington is not that far

Hi Ciderdrinker,
I had seen the baptism you mention, my concern about John Fergusson was that there are other Fergusson marriage records at Athelstaneford, 1700 - 1735,both in 1712 for a Jenet and an Isobel where he is a witness, also a James in 1731, his witness is Archbald Fergusson.
I was hoping the original record on SP may help. Sadly no Kirk Session records there.
