Hi folks, i,m trying to find a marriage of John Ellis and Esther or Hester. I think their first child was born 1750 (Ellis) in the Llancylin/Llanfor area. Thanks

Your Subject header just says “John & Mary”. No surname - but your post says John Ellis & Esther/Hester
Who is Mary?

Could you please include the details of the 1750 baptism.
I can see an Ellis Ellis baptised 23rd January 1750 in Llanycil with mother Esther, but his father was Robert, not John.

Hi
Just popped in to say that I have a couple of lines from this area and with similar dates*. I thought that I'd warn that there was quite a lot of flipping from the patronymic form to surnames in the records at the time.
Sorry not up to doing look ups at the moment but thought that I'd warn.

Quite a few trees have Robert Ellis and Esther, but no marriage, and only show one child, Morris, born in 1758.
The first two baptisms gave the abode as Pant-y-neuadd, which can be found on current maps, close to Parc.
Also on historic maps -

Sorry guys my bad, Robert/Esthers marriage is what i,m looking for, forget John and Mary lol. I,m actually looking for a Maurice or Morris as one got married in Shropshire 1779 and theres no record of him being born in Shrop.
