Julia Isum
« on: Saturday 30 March 24 14:39 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I have tried unsuccessfully to find a death record for Julia Isum ( sometimes spelt ISOM) . Born in 1812 Co Kerry  maiden name was Castles. Married Richard Isum in 1836. He died 29 Aug 1882 Skibbereen age 80. On the Ireland Valuation Record for 1824-1856 the family are living at Castletownsend in West Carbery

On the entry for him on the Irish Genecology site it sated he was married at the time of his death. But i can not find any Death record for this wife. The family was Church Of Ireland.
grateful for any help.

FindMyPast shows a burial Walney St Mary for Julia Isum?

Added
All would fit with the Coastguard occupations

Hello, yes I saw that death but admit I dismissed it. Not aware that she ever left Ireland . Although 3daughters did. But the one that went to Cheshire died in 1882. Another daughter was in the South of England and one in Kent and I know Julia was not with her. Will need to revisit. Thank you

I think I saw at least one daughter married to a Coastguard so wondered if there was a placement there around that time.
It is an unusual name so the chances are very favourable.
You can order a digital copy of the death for £2.50.

Please let us know. I would be surprised if it was not her- no other person of that name, daughter living there at the right time, it seems too much to be a coincidence.
