Were the WW1 Medals Destroyed?
« on: Sunday 31 March 24 15:48 BST (UK) »
Pte 4601 Andrew Nixon

Does the Medal Card note about Disposal imply his 3 Medals were Returned Unclaimed and Destroyed?

His Widow Mary as found earlier today here  - that she Died 1918 leaving their Son John Francis born 1912 to be presume taken in by Guardian Bridget Monaghan nee Nixon

Can a Reissue be Claimed now as previously Unclaimed?

Today, Alamo2008 said -- Can a Reissue be Claimed now as previously Unclaimed?

This topic has been covered on the Great War Forum website and the opinion was to apply via the appropriate form obtainable via:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/749392/MODMO_0001.pdf

In the answer was the statement -- Actual nearest next of kin living must apply and sign the form

The topic went on to say that applicants had been successful.

You can only try!!
