I notice that the Robert Bush in Chelsea 1861 says that he was born in Gayton Norfolk, whereas Robert Bush in Cambridge 1851 says Cambridge.

Sophy Bush baptised Thriplow 1821. Parents Joseph & Jessy
Other baptisms with same parents same place. no Robert.

Why are you trying to make a connection?

Further to mckha489

Joseph and Jessy Bush, Thriplow also baptised a daughter Ann in 1821 who matches the Ann Bush who is with Arthur and Sophia Allen in 1851.

The strange thing is that Sophia gave her father as William, bricklayer, when she married.

Thank you for looking.

From the 1851 census I'm attempting to identify the residents of Fitzroy Street with the public houses on the same street. To assist this I have the Trade Directories of that period, the 1851 census and references to the public houses, location and landlords in the local press of the time.

for example. The Ancient Druids - Thomas Holden.
The 1851 census records Thomas Houlden, Publican, Fitzroy Street.
Trade Directory lists Druids Arms, Thomas Hoalden, Fitzroy Street
Press report 7 Sept 1850, Ancient Druids, Thomas Holden, Fitzroy Street
So, I am reasonably confident that in 1851 Thomas Holden was the Landlord of the Ancient Druids.

Whereas, The Old English Gentleman, Fitzroy Street.
Trade Directory lists Old English Gentleman, Sophia Bush, Fitzroy Street
Press report 21 Sept, Old English Gentleman, Sophia Bush, Fitzroy Street
BUT, Sophia Bush is not recorded in the 1851 census

AND Robert Bush can't be found anywhere except the 1851 census, recorded as a publican.

Also a press report dated 17 Jan 1852 indicates that a George Wing was landlord of OEG for the previous 6 months, There is a George Wing recorded living in Chesterton in 1851.

Genuine question: how likely is it that a single woman in her twenties would be a licensee?
