Kirk Grave
« on: Tuesday 02 April 24 23:29 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I have just bought the death certificate for 2 of my married ancestors;

Elizabeth Kirk, died 25th August 1852 aged 42 years. Address: Court No 3 Hermitage Street, Ecclesall Brierlow.

John Kirk, died 6th November 1874 aged 66 years. Address: Gregory Road, Nether Mallam.

I was wondering if anyone can see a grave online which may be theirs?

Thanks, Luke

Presume you mean Nether Hallam - not Mallam?  Ecclesall Bierlow & Nether Hallam are both in WR Yorkshire but you have posted on the Derbyshire board

Nether Hallam and Ecclesall Bierlow were both townships within the ancient parish of Sheffield.  Ecclesall Bierlow became the name of a registration district which was larger and extended into north Derbyshire.

I have checked burials indexed on the Sheffield Indexers site http://sheffieldindexers.com/   There is general information about burial grounds there, and links to a few other sites.  You could try posting a query on their Forum.

Thank you all for this help. I have bought and downloaded the burial information for the Church now from the records you found Emeltom. I do not think, from the views on google, that any gravestones still exist and cannot find and record of any engravings for the churchyard online.
Thanks CaroleW, MollyC & Emeltom!
