looking for the parents to James (Barney) Smith

Hi,
Im trying to look for the parents for James (Barney) Smith who was born on the 27th June 1854 who was born at St Georges Middlesex England as far as parents go I only have William Smith as the father with no details for William to go off as it is blank on his Date of Birth and Date of Death. James married Alice Maud Barnett if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

If the marriage was 1874 - father William Smith is shown as a shoemaker

Have you looked for James on the 1861 or 1871 census?

There are 2 births in the September qtr 1854 in the St Georges Reg district but one has a middle name.       www.freebmd.org.uk

The one with just one name shows his mothers maiden name as Read
