Hi,
Can anyone help me find two censuses for my ancestor(s) please?
Mary Ellen Mercer was born in Liverpool on 2 July 1843 according to Civil Registration, but haven't found a baptism record yet. Her parents were James Mercer (b. 1815) and Jane, nee Knowles (b. 1817)
They were married on 8 February 1835.
James Mercer, bachelor, of this parish [Liverpool]

Their children are:

1861: nothing for the family, but possibly something for Mary Ellen:
15 Court, [S?] street
Wm. Roberts, Head, married, 49, butcher, born Liverpool
Esther ", wife, married, 47, born Liverpool
Mary Ellen Mercer, servant, single, 17, servant, born Liverpool
I haven't managed to locate James (Mary Ellen's father) in the 1871 census either, in the late 1860s he's in and out of the workhouse, in the vagrant's ward, even the asylum at one point, so was clearly having a rough time. In March 1872, the workhouse gives an address where he slept the night before as 14 Wilton Street.
He died at the workhouse in June 1872.
Mary Ellen married Charles Hanley/Hindley on 10 Jul 1864.
Charles Hindley, minor, bachelor, bricklayer, Trowbridge St., Timothy Hindley, labourer
Mary Ellen Mercer, minor, spinster, -, Trowbridge St., James Mercer, carver and gilder
Witnesses: John Dixon, Catherine Dixon
Mary Ellen appears with her family on the 1871, 1881 and 1891, and 1911 censuses, before she died in 1915, but I haven't managed to find anything for 1901, or for what happened to most of her children.
Their children:
Charles Hindley, born 20 Sep 1868, baptised 29 Nov 1868, son of Charles Hindley, and Mary Ellen, nee Mercer. Godparents: Michael Cassidy, Maria Hindley
Thomas Hindley, c. 1872
Timothy Hindley, c. 1874
Elizabeth Hindley, born 22 Feb 1876, bapt. 6 Mar 1876 (address Midghall/Marshall? St. father's occ. labourer)
Edward Hindley, born 5 March 1880, Toxteth Park (my direct ancestor, via civil records, not found a baptism)
James Hindley, born 22 May 1885, bapt. 8 Jun 1885 (Midghall/Marshall?St.; labourer)
Their census appearances:

Charles died in December 1895, the address being 68 Arlington Street, and buried in Ford Cemetery.
1901 census: ?
1911 census: 62 Conway Street, Liverpool
Mary Ellen Hindley, 68, Head, widow, married 32 years (ten children, 5 living) born Liverpool
James Hindley, 26, son, single, Labourer (docks) born Liverpool
I haven't been able to find Mary and Charles's other four children, they probably died in infancy, not appearing on the censuses.
She died in December 1915, and was buried in January 1916, in Anfield Cemetery, her last address being 37 Conway Street.
The Hindley family was Catholic, and the Mercer's were Protestant, James's family were non-conformist.
If anyone can help me find the missing documents, I would be very grateful! Any help is always much appreciated, thank you!
