Bridge Street, Frome, Somerset
« on: Tuesday 09 April 24 16:59 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to electoral rolls for Bridge Street in Frome around 1957 or 1958? I am trying to find out where our family were living then and believe it was in Bridge Street in a flat. Many thanks if anyone can help.

Have you tried Frome Museum   :-\
https://frome-museum.org/

Hopefully they would be able to tell you where they are held

If you can locate where they are held maybe someone could look it up for you

Sorry, unlucky timing as I was in Frome last week but back to Scotland now..

Good idea from Rosie to approach the Museum, and wonder if anyone from the Frome Society could help:

It will be interesting to hear if the museum can help or suggest where these registers are held.  They are generally very helpful in there.  :)

The Museum is on the corner of Bridge Street

Indeed, the museum was very helpful. They were able to look up the households of the flats in Bridge street and identify which one we lived in when I was a baby.  Not only that, but I asked for details of Butler & Tanner and they also hold the employee records there. Happy days.

I am really pleased to hear that the museum was able to give you so much information.  It is certainly a treasure trove of Frome information. There is now a housing estate where Butler & Tanner were in Caxton Road  ::)

Just as long as you pronounce Frome correctly!
Rhymes with broom; does NOT rhyme with Rome! ;D
