help needed with Soldier dies in Chelsea London in 1810
« on: Thursday 11 April 24 14:27 BST (UK) »
dont know if this is the right place to post or not !!
I am trying to seek further information on my four times great grandfather John McKennon !
according to a headstone erected by his daughter Helen McKennon  in Irvine Ayrshire Scotland , he died in Chelsea in October 1810 aged 24, giving him an estimated dob of 1786 .
he was "married" to Isabella Black McKinnon and on her death certificate , she was the widow of John McKinnon , soldier , she was born in Arran, Buteshire, Scotland .
their daughter Helen was born in 1808 on the Isle of Arran Bute Scotland .
my problem is there are many John McKennons/McKinnons from Scotland and I have failed miserably until now trying to find the right one !.
any help would be gratefully appreciated !
regards
Elinga

Hello - I am one of the volunteer genealogists at Arran Heritage Museum and we may be able to help. As the museum is a charitable trust we do request a donation to museum funds. If you don't have any luck with your query here then please get in touch and we will see what we can find!
