Stephen S. Rawn (1902-1956) - Huntsville, Ontario

Hello,

I have found a Stephen Sholten Rawn (b 2 Nov 1907 Sunnidale, Ontario) in my search for relations, in Canada, and discovered that he died on 31 Mar 1956 at Huntsville Tannery, Huntsville, Ontario while attempting to save a fellow worker.

What was the tragedy at Huntsville Tannery, and were there any newspaper reports about this? Is there an obituary for Stephen Rawn?

I have seen a photo of the headstone on his grave, without details, and cannot find any information about where Stephen Rawn was actually buried.

I am hoping that someone might to be able to answer these questions for me. Thank you.

From the Huntsville Forester newspaper, 19 April 1956, page 11, obit for Stephen. It says
he was interred in the Hutcheson Memorial Vault (Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery, Huntsville)

Obit 23 Feb. 2011 for Stephen's wife, Violet Elizabeth Smith, with photo, she remarried in 1979
to John Graham. God bless, she was 100 years old.
