Van Hille / Van Hulle family

Good day, everyone.

I am busy researching my wife's paternal grandfather (Don van Hille) but have been finding it very hard to find any information about the van Hille family (alternative spelling van Hulle) online.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction? It will be greatly appreciated.

PS, not sure if this is the right forum (very new here), if it is not just point me again to where it needs to be placed.  :)

How sure are you regarding the name "Don"? Could it have been "Doc" instead as per https://essigdb.berkeley.edu/cgi/eme_people_query?name_full=Johann+C.+van+Hille&one=T

If not, maybe give us his full name, the area(s) where he resided, (approx) DOB and DOD, family members etc ....

Not seeing any records online in South Africa - There is this Rosemary Van HULLE who died in 2010, a daughter of Don and Dorothy Van HULLE. Not in South Africa, but is this the right family?

If this is the right family, Don was born 30 July 1921 in Illinois, son of Peter Van HULLE and Mary (nee CAUWENBERGE) - parents born in Belgium. Donald Julius Van HULLE died 30 Nov 1989.
