Scandrett history
« on: Friday 12 April 24 18:04 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Looking for any information on Thomas Scandrett (married Deborah Ann), parents Jacob and Ann Wright.  Thomas born abt 1821.  Born and lived in Ireland, County Down (where exactly?). Moved to Ontario, Canada in 1932 (London, Middlesex County).  Looking for Irish history only.  Thanks.

Hi Steph

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

There were possible siblings to Thomas, leaving Ireland to make their lives in London, Ontario.

There is this christening for example:

Joseph Scandrett
Baptism 27 Dec 1829 Moira, Down, Ireland
Father Jacob Scandrett
Mother Anne
FHL Film Number 924498

See www.townlands.ie/down/moira2/

Joseph looks to have died young, www.findagrave.com/memorial/250525397/joseph-scandrett

Thanks Monica.  I think I have most of that.  The details about when Thomas died are yet outstanding.

There looks to be another Jacob Scandrett in the same area around the same time which might muddy the waters on searches.

This Jaboc married an Alice Stafford. This is given as his burial entry www.findagrave.com/memorial/138763056/jacob-scandrett?
